Sylvain Kahn

Sylvain Kahn is an associate professor in the history department at Sciences Po. Since 2001, he is teaching European issues. Doctor in geography and graduate in geopolitics, aggregated in history, normalien and researcher at the history center of Sciences Po, he published Histoire de l’Europe depuis 1945, Géopolitique de l’union européenne et Dictionnaire critique de l’Union européenne, chez A. Colin, et Les universités sont-elles solubles dans la mondialisation? at Hachette Editions. He is the manager and co-author of the Geopolitics of Europe mooc, distributed online in French and English on the Coursera and Fun platforms. Being a researcher at the Sciences Po history center, his work focuses on two subjects: the place and role of the nation-state in European construction; the characterization of the territoriality of the European Union. Sylvain Kahn has also been the producer of the geography program Planète Terre on the national radio station France Culture (2006-2016); member of the entry jury at ENA where he contributed to the continuing education of senior officials from different Asian countries on the EU; in charge of European affairs at the office of the Minister of National Education and Higher Education, at Sciences Po, and at the Poitou-Charentes Regional Council (1998-2005). He is an editorial writer on the digital media Explicite, Euradionantes and Europe 1.
